Fire Station

The East Tawas Fire Station is located on
Main Street, in downtown East Tawas. It is just one block from Newman
Street, and one block from U.S. 23. The location allows for easy access
to all parts of the coverage area, while avoiding the busy intersection
at U.S. 23 and Newman Street for most calls. The downtown location is
also ideal because many of the department's firefighters live or work
within blocks of the station, allowing very quick response times. The station was built in 1990. It has a meeting room, kitchen, recreation/storage room, Chief's office, full bathroom/shower/locker facilities, and a large heated apparatus room. The meeting room has full A/V capabilities to assist with training. The apparatus room is large enough to accommodate most training throughout the frigid winter months.
